“The grown-ups advised me to put away my drawings of boa constrictors, outside or inside, and apply myself to geography, history, arithmetic, and grammar. This is why I abandoned at the age of six, a magnificent career as an artist. I had been discouraged by the failure of my drawing…. Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is exhausting for children to have to provide explanations over and over again.
My wish for the world is that we learn to teach young children to embrace who they are as individuals; that we teach them to be themselves and themselves only. I don’t mean for the world to accept and condone harmful or wrong or even inappropriate actions or behavior. I mean that I wish for more encouragement for individuality, that we teach children independence and self-confidence.
We’re too afraid. We are too afraid of so many things; too afraid of judgment or rejection. So afraid in fact that we fail to ever try.
You are an incredible being. And you must absolutely do what you love or you run the risk of doing nothing at all.
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you imagined…”
“I believe passionately that we are all born with tremendous natural capacities, and that we lose touch with many of them as we spend more time in the world…. Too many people never connect with their true talents and therefor don’t know what they’re really capable of achieving.”
I know that this life isn’t easy, and sometimes it is so hard to be brave. But never let anyone convince you that feelings and emotions are synonyms for weakness.
The strong are strong because they have risen after the fall.
There is so much life inside of you. There comes a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud becomes more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
Be who you were meant to be. Allow yourself to develop and grow and learn. Fall. Hurt. It’s ok.
Learn to  “forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Give everyone a smile. Spend so much time improving yourself that you have no time left to criticize others. Be too big for worry and too noble for anger.”
Be an example to the little humans, that it is ok to be you, because you are incredible. You are the only one just like you. Never forget how beautiful and incredible you are.
